Minnesota teen dies after fleeing party

MADISON, Minn. — A teenager in west-central Minnesota died early Sunday after fleeing a drinking party in a rural area.

Michael Chinedu Anyasike, 18, of Dawson, was pronounced dead Sunday after being transported to the Madison Hospital by ambulance, according to Lac qui Parle County Sheriff Rick Halvorson.

Anyasike was reported as a missing person by his parents at 12:06 p.m. Sunday, according to the sheriff’s office. Anyasike was found outside of a rural farm site about four miles from the party site.   

Officers had responded at 12:28 a.m. to a party at a rural residence east of Madison.

The officers found about 20 vehicles parked there. Some individuals fled as officers arrived.

Later, it was confirmed that the missing person was one of the individuals who had fled the farm site, according to the sheriff’s office
