Minnesota officials announce $1.3 billion in transportation projects
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Minnesota motorists will see more orange barrels than ever this summer after state officials Wednesday announced they will spend a record $1.3 billion on transportation projects.
Of the 283 projects on the Minnesota Department of Transportation's 2010 list, 217 are on highways. The remaining projects deal with railroads, ports and transit.
