WGHN-AM and Mlive.com reports that the Oceana County sheriff's department says 26-year-old Vikrant Kole of Woodbury, Minn., died Tuesday.

Authorities say Kole was swimming near Silver Lake State Park on Sunday evening when he disappeared under the water.

They say a dive team pulled him from the water after about 35 minutes, and a helicopter flew him to Spectrum Health hospital in Grand Rapids.

The park is in Golden Township, about 35 miles north-northwest of Muskegon.
