Minnesota issues red flag fire warning

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has issued a Red Flag Warning for today, April 28, for most of northwest and north central Minnesota, which includes Koochiching, Itasca, Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing and west to the Dakota borders.

Ron Stoffel, Wildlife Suppression Supervisor at MIFC stressed that under the present conditions, you should not wait to call for help. Professional firefighters are equipped and trained to handle these often severe fires. Don't panic, use good judgment and call 911 for help.
