Minnesota fishing opener: Gov. Pawlenty promotes fishing at annual event
WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. - For the first time in the 61-year-history of the event, a Minnesota governor today will open the walleye fishing season on a metro lake.
Gov. Tim Pawlenty planned to hit White Bear Lake at 3:30 a.m. today for an early start, before attending the formal Governor's Fishing Opener ceremonies at 6:45 a.m. at Tally's Dockside.
