Minn. child-care license revoked after stabbing
DULUTH — The child-care license of a West Duluth woman has been revoked after an investigation concluded she stabbed a household member in front of children.
The Minnesota Department of Human Services notified Nicole Marie Ek this week that her license has been revoked. She has the right to appeal.
Officials with the St. Louis County Public Health and Human Services Department said Ek stabbed a household member with a knife in May, as children watched.
A Duluth News Tribune reportsays the Department of Human Services suspended her license four days later. No criminal charges have been filed.
A working telephone listing couldn't be found for Ek on Saturday.
The Department of Human Services website says Ek had been licensed to care for up to 12 children in her home.
