Minke, former city manager, is a finalist for job in Moorhead
Former Bemidji city manager David Minke has been named one of six finalists for the city manager position in Moorhead.
Minke, who worked for the city of Bemidji since 2002, resigned on March 29, 2006, and accepted a position as assistant town manager in Castle Rock, Colo.
"At this point in my career, having the experience of working in a dynamic and growing organization is exciting," Minke told the Pioneer last March.
Castle Rock has a population of almost 40,000. According to Minke, the city expected to grow by 5,000 residents by 2010.
A 2005 population estimate said Moorhead's population is 34,244.
Bemidji had a population of 11,917 in the 2000 census.
According to the Fargo Forum, the other five finalists for Moorhead city manager are:
-- Michael L. Aschcraft, a consultant from Olathe, Kan.
-- Shaunna L. Johnson, city administrator in Waite Park
-- Larry R. Kruse, city administrator in Albertville
-- Michael L. Stampfler, owner and managing partner of a consulting firm in Portage, Mich.
-- Mark A. Winson, vice president of finance and administration at Lake Superior College in Duluth.
Interviews for the Moorhead position are Aug. 17-18.
