Michael "Mickey" Winger

Michael "Mickey" Winger, 63, of Bemidji, MN, died Monday, January 20, 2014 at Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2014 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Naylor officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the spring in the Alaska Township Cemetery.

Michael Roy Winger was born January 4, 1951 in Bagley to Orville and Dorothy Winger. He grew up in Nebish and attended Pleasant Valley Country School and the Nebish Country School. Later he attended Blackduck High School where he played football. At age 16 he started trucking with the Benson Trucking Company for a few years, and then worked as a mechanic for a few years at the Honda Sports Center. After that, he took a job with Dart Trucking where he was an over the road trucker. Michael also logged for Frenzel Logging. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Winger of Puposky; sister, Julie (John) Harris of Debs; niece, Jessica Harris of Bagley and nephew, Jason Harris of Front Royal, VA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Orville Winger and brother, Neil Winger.
