Michael Jackson tribute show to play Sanford Center

BEMIDJI — “The Ultimate Thriller– The Michael Jackson Tribute” will perform live at the Sanford Center on June 6, center officials announced Wednesday.

The Bemidji concert will be the group’s first U.S. tour date after a European tour, officials said.

“Ultimate Thriller” is based on Jackson’s “Dangerous” and “Bad” concert tours and features iconic songs such as “Black or White,” “Beat It” and “Billie Jean,” according to a press release. Fronting the show is Fabio Morda, an Italian who has been portraying Jackson for more than 10 years. Morda is supported by a dance squad choreographed by Jackson’s former team and friends Mic Thompson and LaVelle Smith Jr. Jackson’s personal audio consultant Michael Prince also is part of the group.

The show is at 7:30 p.m., and doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $17, $22 and $35 and are available at Lueken’s Village Foods Ticketmaster outlets, charge by phone at (800)745.3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets also are available for purchase at the Sanford Center box office.
