Michael Bongo to run for re-election as Leech Lake Band secretary-treasurer

Michael Bongo formally announced Friday his intention to run for re-election to the position of Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe secretary -treasurer.

"It is with great excitement, anticipation and hope that I write to you today to inform you of my forthcoming plans to seek re-election for the position of Secretary Treasurer of the Leech Lake Reservation Tribal Council," Bongo wrote in a letter to Leech Lake Tribal Council members.

Bongo, the incumbent secretary-treasurer has served for the last 18 months.

The Leech Lake primary election is scheduled for March 30.
