Metal scraps needed for Heritage sculpture garden
The North Beltrami Heritage Center in collaboration with Kelliher School District is seeking metal scraps to use in building metal sculptures for the Heritage Sculpture Garden at the North Beltrami Heritage Center (Kelliher WPA Auditorium).
Parts of old farm equipment and other metal scraps can be dropped off on the lawn on the north and east side of the Kelliher School by the Industrial Arts Room beginning April 2. A space will be marked for your donations.
Workshops with metal sculpture artist Al Bellevueau are scheduled for April 18-19 and April 25-26. Here is an opportunity for community members and students from some arts and industrial arts classes to create something new from something old or discarded. In the completed sculpture garden, farm implements from past generations and native and heritage plants will serve as the backdrop for the newly created Heritage Sculpture Garden.
This project was made possible by a grant from the Region 2 Arts Council.
