Men's basketball: Bemidji St. tops Crookston 78-63 in NSIC opener

CROOKSTON -- The Bemidji State University men’s basketball team went on a 13-0 spurt in the final three minutes of the first half and the rally helped the Beavers post a 78-63 victory in the opening conference game for both teams.

Brock Lutes paced BSU’s attack with 23 points. The junior also grabbed seven rebounds. Zach Noreen scored 21 points and had a career-high 10 rebounds. The double-double was thie first of Noreen’s collegiate career.

He also had five blocks and four steals.

The Beavers (4-1, 1-0) converted 23 of its 56 field goal attempts while Crookston (3-2, 0-1) hit 41 percent.
