Memorial Day observance to be held

Blackduck High School and the Blackduck American Legion and Auxiliary Post 372 of Blackduck are commemorating Memorial Day May 28. Events begin with a program honoring veterans and their families at 10 a.m. in the Blackduck High School gymnasium.

The program will commemorate Memorial Day and honor the nation's and community's veteran's and fallen soldiers. The American Legion and Auxiliary members will make presentations.

The Blackduck High School band, under the direction of Mr. Jeff Weaver will provide patriotic music, along with piano accompaniment by Ian Cole and a vocal solo. Blackduck High School students will be speaking during the ceremony, along with the officers of the Legion and auxiliary.

The entire community is invited to join also in a cemetery service following the school program and then retire to the Blackduck Legion for lunch. Please join with your community and the Legion to celebrate and commemorate Memorial Day.
