Mavericks hand Bemidji State women's basketball fifth-straight loss

Minnesota State University, Mankato picked up an 81-50 win over Bemidji State in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's basketball on Saturday.

With the loss, Bemidji State dropped its fifth game in a row.

The Mavericks jumped out to an early 9-0 lead and never looked back. Jamie Bresnahan led the Mavericks with 15 points and eight rebounds.

Laura Weber tallied 10 points and four blocks for Mankato. Allie Hoefer also scored 10 points. Mankato led 47-29 at the half.

Bemidji State struggled to control the ball and hit shots.

The Beavers gave away 23 turnovers. Mankato converted those turnovers into 30 points. Bemidji State also shot a lowly 30.4 percent from the field.

Sophomore guard Morgan Lee led the Beavers with 11 points. Kate Warmack finished the game with eight points.

Bemidji State finishes the regular season next weekends. The Beavers host Upper Iowa on Friday and Winona State on Saturday.
