Math League students compete at state meet

After achieving its 15th regional title in the past 17 years, Bemidji High School's Math League competed at the state tournament Monday in St. Paul.

Students who participated were Zach Hewitt, Ian Sweeney-Smith, Ben Fultz, Katie Kovacovich, Brody Dreyer, Matt Bock, Caitlyn Puro, Henry Curtis, Kevin Sorenson and Kayla Hewitt.

Overall, the team placed 33rd at the state meet.

Due to their scores during the regular season, Hewitt and Curtis were asked to compete among 60 other students from around the state in an invitational prior to the regular portion of the state tournament. Hewitt earned eight points and Curtis earned five points.

The team is coached by Terry Hewitt.
