Marlin Dean Holum, 51, of Bemidji, died Sunday, March 15, 2009, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji, with Kara Carpenter officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Parker, Frank Fairbanks, Danny Fairbanks, Wayne Burnette, Ralph Gotaas and Carey Woods.
He was born Dec. 14, 1957, to Robert and Eleanor (Ostrom) Holum in Fosston.
He grew up and attended school in Bemidji. He served in the U.S. Army and then returned to Bemidji. He married Barbara Reynolds in Bemidji. He worked at Kal's Building Center. He was also employed with Eagles Incorporated as a home health care aide. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and softball player.
He is survived by his wife, Barb Holum of Bemidji; son, Cody Dean Holum of Bemidji; mother, Eleanor Holum of Bemidji; sister, Robin Worman of Palm Desert, Calif., and brother, Tom Holum of Bemidji.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Holum.
