Mark G. Neumann, 53
Mark "Gash" G. Neumann, 53, of Bemidji, died Monday, April 10, 2006, near his home.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Philips Catholic Church, Bemidji, with the Rev. Vincent Miller officiating. Visitation will be 5:30-7 p.m. today at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Bemidji.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren Jade and Noah Hunt.
Pallbearers will be Duwayne Anderson, Bruce Simonson, Robert Beighley, Terry Jackson, Zeb Degerman, Don (Mick) Finn, Mike Schmerbeck, Knute Naastad and Dan Johnson.
He was born Nov. 14, 1952, to Thomas and Lila (Wills) Neumann in Coon Rapids. He grew up and graduated from high school in 1970 in Minneapolis. He was employed as a floor coverer until he moved to Bemidji in 1974. He married Susan Wagner on Aug. 4, 1973. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved all sports. Hockey, golf and bowling were his favorites.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Neumann of Bemidji; son, Andrew Neumann of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters, Amber (Taylor Grage) Neumann of Bemidji and Angela Hunt; two grandchildren; mother, Lila J. Neumann of Bemidji; sisters, Susan (Dale) Kuzel of Pine City, Minn., Ann (Steven) Newby of Bemidji; brothers, Lawrence Neumann of Austin, Texas, Daniel (Tammy) Neumann of Jamestown, N.D., Thomas (Linda) Neumann of Brooklyn Center, Minn., and John (Monika) Neumann of Bemidji; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas, and brother, Michael.
