Marion (Fjerstad) Anderson, 85, of Erskine, and formerly of Fosston, died on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at her home.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Hope Lutheran Church in Fosston with Rev. Paul Magelssen officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston with a 7 p.m. prayer service and will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Saron Lutheran Cemetery in Erskine.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren, great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Todd Sherette, Eric Myhre, Corey Myhre, Scott Salvhus, Jason Nelson, Chris Nelson, Kolton Olson and Keyston Olson.

She was born on Sept. 7, 1920, to Henry and Martha (Anderson) Nyhus, in Fosston. She was baptized and confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church and attended school in Fosston. Following school, she worked for several years cleaning homes in the Fosston area. She married Francis Fjerstad on Jan. 20, 1944. After their marriage, they lived on his parent's farm in Brandsvold Township, north of Fosston. They later moved to Columbia Township, east of Fosston where they raised their eight children. He died in 1965. She continued to live at home in Columbia Township until 1989. She married Albert Anderson on Dec. 16, 1989, at Poplar Lake Lutheran Church in Fosston. Following their marriage, they lived on his home farm in Badger Township, north of Erskine.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, embroidering, flowers, playing cards, Bingo and spending time with family. She especially enjoyed Sundays when her family could be together. She was a member of the Spring Lake V.F.W. Auxiliary Post No. 2759 of Lengby and had attended Saron Lutheran Church near Erskine.

She is survived by her husband of Erskine; children, Susan (Ronald "Chuck") Sherette of East Grand Forks, Minn., Sandra (David) Salvhus of McIntosh, Minn., Carolyn (Alfred) Knutson of Fosston, Terry Myhre (special friend, James Brown) of Walker, Craig (Gretchen) Fjerstad of Bemidji, Cheryl Nelson of Nielsville, Minn., Debbie (Marlin) Olson of Fosston and Kristine (Marvin) Olson of Roseau, Minn.; 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; twin sister, Myra (Les) Yergens of Mentor, Minn.; six sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her first husband; parents; children, LeRoy, David, Diane and Patty; brothers and sisters, Harry, Mabel, Hjalmer "Jassie," Alfred, Lillian, Floyd "Skino," Adela "Nupa," Esther and Gilman; and one grandson.
