Marilyn Jane Anderson, 87, of Blackduck, MN, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society in Blackduck, MN.

She was born on February 5, 1926 in Shotley, MN to Dennis and Margaret (Beck) Bowe. She attended school in Kelliher, graduating in 1943. She worked at the Blackduck Bakery before she married Delmer Anderson on October 6, 1946 in Shotley and they lived in Blackduck, Grand Rapids and Bemidji before moving back to Blackduck. Before becoming a homemaker, she worked at the Beltrami Nursing Home and the Day Activity Center in Northome.

She loved being with her family and friends as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, doing crafts, painting, and walking in the woods on a pleasant day. She was also a member of the Blackduck Garden Club, the Zion Lutheran Church, the Blackduck American Legion Auxiliary and a charter member of the Blackduck Senior Center. Marilyn also enjoyed traveling with her husband, including to all fifty states and several international trips.

She is survived by her children, Delmarie (Larry) Latulippe of Bemidji, MN, Gregory (Elaine) Anderson of St. Joseph, MN, Gary (Sandy) Anderson of Blackduck, MN, Randall (Shelly) Anderson of Bagley, MN and Jeanine Campbell of Woodbury, MN; 12 grandchildren, Tog (Sara) Anderson, Dustin (Ashley) Anderson, Chisholm (Rachel) Anderson, Cody Anderson, Chase Anderson, Lukas Anderson, Carrie Ann (Paul) Bartlette, Shawna (Jeff) Hanks, Brenda (Mike) Dahlheimer, Renee Anderson, Maria Anderson and Alissa Campbell and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Anderson; her parents, Dennis and Margaret Bowe; a son- in-law, David Campbell; two sisters, Leona Hoffmann and Peggy Hensel and five brothers, Denley Bowe, Lester Bowe, Kenneth Bowe, Phillip Bowe and Jack Bowe.

Marilyn’s family would particularly like to thank the Good Samaritan Society of Blackduck and Sanford Hospice for care they provided to Marilyn.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tog Anderson, Dustin Anderson, Lukas Anderson, Chisholm Anderson, Cody Anderson and Chase Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Carrie Ann Bartlette, Shawna Hanks, Brenda Dahlheimer, Renee Anderson, Maria Anderson and Alissa Campbell. Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Blackduck, Mn. Visitations will be from 5:00pm – 7:00pm Friday, May 10th followed by a prayer and memories session at Cease Funeral Home in Blackduck; and another visitation prior to the services, from 12:00 – 12:45pm. Internment at Lakeview Cemetery in Blackduck will be held following the services. Refreshments will be served at Zion Lutheran Church following the services.

Memorials are preferred to Zion Lutheran Church, the Blackduck Garden Club, or the Good Samaritan Chapel Fund.
