Margaret E. Holtgrewe, 87, of Frazee, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the Frazee Care Center in Frazee.

Margaret E. Quinlan was born to Joseph and Ione Caye Quinlan on Dec. 4, 1920 in Richwood. She grew up near Richwood and attended country school there. In 1937 she married Melvin Wilson in Detroit Lakes. They made their home in the Rochert area, and later moved into Detroit Lakes. Melvin died in 1959.

In 1964, Margaret married Bernard Holtgrewe. They lived in Moorhead for six years before moving to rural Detroit Lakes. Bernard died in 2001. Margaret moved into the Frazee Care Center in 2005.

Margaret liked to travel, spending several winters in Arizona. She loved her dogs, Cody and Heidi. She also enjoyed gardening and camping, and was known for her fabulous cinnamon and caramel rolls.

Surviving Margaret are her two sons, Melvin (Darlene) Wilson and James (Pamela) Wilson, both of Rochert; two daughters, Lorraine A. Seaberg and Cheryl (Glenn) Gunderson, both of Detroit Lakes; 23 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren.

Preceding Margaret in death were her parents; first husband, Melvin Wilson; second husband, Bernard Holtgrewe; two great grandchildren, Cory and Casey Knudsen; two brothers, Loren Hamlin and Morris Quinlan; and one sister, Marion Thunstrom.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21 at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at the Northern Lights Tabernacle, Richwood, with the Rev. Bob St. Claire officiating.

Casket bearers will be Michelle Olfeke, Brandi Wilson, Terry Seaberg, Todd Seaberg, Kyle Jordet, Gidget Jordet, Scott Wilson and Mark Knudsen.

Burial will take place at Richwood Lakeside Cemetery, Richwood. West-Kjos Funeral Home is providing arrangements. Those wanting to share memories and condolences are invited to use the funeral home's online messages of sympathy section at www.westkjos.com.
