Manufacturers' Association to meet
The Highway 2 West Manufacturers' Association's next general membership meeting will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. May 21 at the Eagles Club, 227 10th St. N.W. in East Grand Forks, Minn. The club is one block south of the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and state Highway 220. The meeting will be hosted by the East Grand Forks Economic Development Housing Authority.
The program topic is "Introduction to Government Contracting for Manufacturers." Presenters Sherri Komrosky and Arlette Abrahamson of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center will provide information on government procurement. Participants will learn what the government buys in the billion-dollar marketplace, where the new federal stimulus dollars are going, and who is buying. Registrations, certifications, basic procurement processes, selling tools and PTAC assistance to help with the entire process will also be covered.
The association recommends that manufacturers and suppliers in search of more business opportunities with the government attend.
Registration will begin at 11 a.m.; lunch will be at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting at noon. Tours of Northern Valley Machine and Ideal Aerosmith will be available after the meeting.
The cost of the meeting is $15. To register, contact Ellen Olson at the East Grand Forks Economic Development Authority at 218-773-2371 or e-mail email@example.com by May 14.
