Man struck, killed by Border Patrol vehicle on Gunflint Trail
GRAND MARAIS, Minn. -- A northern Minnesota man has died after being struck be a U.S. Border Patrol vehicle on the Gunflint Trail.
Cook County Sheriff Mark Falk said in a news release that Kenneth Peterson, 67, was using a chain saw to clear a downed tree from the roadway when he was struck around 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Peterson was pronounced dead at Cook County Hospital in Grand Marais.
The accident happened near Peterson's home on Seagull Lake.
The Border Patrol agent, who was not named, was not hurt.
