Man killed in Alexandria stabbing attack
ALEXANDRIA, Minn. -- One man is dead after a stabbing attack Saturday in Alexandria.
Alexandria police and Douglas County sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call around 1 p.m. that a man had been stabbed in the chest at 1705 6th Ave. E., Lincoln Estates. The county medical examiner was called to the scene and confirmed the death of Phillip Alstadt, 28, of Alexandria.
Alstadt was dead on the lawn from an apparent stabbing when officers arrived. Alstadt knew his attacker, according to police reports. A suspect, Kody Klimek, 25, of Alexandria, fled on foot but was apprehended Saturday afternoon.
The Alexandria Police Department, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating.
