Man jailed in Eagan fight that left roommate dead
EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — A 28-year-old man is in jail after a New Year's fight in an Eagan apartment that left his roommate dead.
Police and firefighters along with paramedics were called to the apartment building just before midnight Tuesday. The caller told the dispatcher he had been fighting with the 36-year-old victim earlier and the man was now unresponsive.
Officers saw injuries on the victim's face. Attempts to revive the man failed. Authorities have not released his name.
The caller was taken in for questioning, along with two others who were there during the fight. Investigators believe alcohol was involved.
Eagan police had answered a noise complaint at the apartment last June.
The suspect is in the Dakota County Jail. Police are investigating the death as a homicide.
