Man found bleeding from gunshot wounds on highway near Granite Falls

GRANITE FALLS, Minn. -- A man was in critical condition Friday at a Minneapolis hospital after being found bleeding from apparent gunshot wounds on a west-central Minnesota highway.

According to a news release from the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office, a caller reported about 12:40 a.m. Friday that a man was lying on Highway 23 covered in blood at the intersection with 260th Avenue south of Granite Falls. The release did not include information about the man’s age or city of residence.

Deputies found that the man appeared to be bleeding from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Granite Falls Hospital and then flown to Hennepin County Medical Center.

The case is under investigation
