Man fatally shot by police in Cottage Grove

COTTAGE GROVE, Minn. - A man was fatally shot by police during a traffic stop about 11 p.m. Wednesday night, according to authorities here.

And another man was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

The Washington County Special Response Team was involved in the shooting, according to a Cottage Grove Police Department news release.

The officers involved will be put on paid administrative leave, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating the incident, according to the press release.

More information is to be released about 11 a.m. today.
