Man convicted of receiving stolen property
BEMIDJI — The final member of a Bemidji based theft and burglary investigation was sentenced in Beltrami County court on Monday.
Firearms, power tools, copper pipes, tools and a pickup truck were recovered during the searches involved in the investigation, which was conducted in 2012.
Waslaski was sentenced to a year and a day prison time in a Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud which has been stayed for five years. He must serve 90 days in the Beltrami County Jail, of which he is credited 58 days for time served.
Waslaski will be on probation for five years and must pay a $1,000 fine.
Waslaski was arrested along with four other individuals. The other four suspects: Richard Allen Fowler, Kristie Jo Coyle, Joel Clarence Velisek and John David Iverson have already been sentenced for their crimes.
Charges for receiving stolen property against Waslawski’s wife Holly were dismissed.
The investigation was conducted by the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Bemidji Police Department, Leech Lake Tribal police, Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
