Make some friends at Sesame Street Live
BEMIDJI -- Sesame Street Live "Make a New Friend" will take place at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 23 at the Sanford Center, 1111 Event Center Drive NE.
During the show, Elmo, Grover, Abby Cadabby and all the favorite characters welcome Chamki, Grover's friend from India, to Sesame Street, according to a press release from the show's promoters.
Chamki is a character from Galli Galli Sim Sim, India's version of Sesame Street. Although she does not appear on the TV show in the U.S., she's the first international character to be included in a live show cast.
Together, everyone explores the universal fun of friendship and celebrates cultural similarities, from singing and dancing, to small things such as sharing cookies. Promoters described the show as all about inclusion and making friends, even with people who may seem very different (such as Bert and Ernie). The show features various songs and dances and there will be audience participation.
Tickets are $10 with a $2 facility fee added to all ticket prices. A pre show meet and greet is available with Sesame Street Live friends including Elmo for an additional $20. Tickets are available by phone at (800) 745-300, online at www.ticketmaster.com. For more information, call 441-4032 or www.sesamestreetlive.com. Mayor Rita Albrecht also declared Aug. 23 as Sesame Street Live Day in the city of Bemidji.
