LWML holds 25th convention

Women from the Minnesota North District of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, gathered for their 25th biennial convention at Breezy Point Resort.

The delegates and guests attended Bible studies, heard inspiring speakers, conducted business and held elections. The newly elected president is JoNette Brogard of Alexandria.

Members adopted a budget of $135,000 that will fund mission projects, ranging from scholarships for full-time church workers to vehicles for pastors and vicars in Haiti. Servant events at the Fond du Lac Reservation were also funded.

Attending from Trinity Lutheran Church in Bemidji were Kathy Steinmetz, Doris Tibbetts, Darlene Peterson and Darlene Lind.
