Each team forfeited one weight and each team recorded six wins. The difference was that two of Bemidji's victories were decisions while the Prowlers collected five pins and only one decision.

The night started on a positive note for the Lumberjacks as Tyler O'Beirne needed only 18 seconds to pin Travis Johnson at 106 pounds.

Thief River Falls returned the favor 3:21 into the 113-pound battle when Stephen Holecek pinned Justin Seelye.

The teams traded decision triumphs in the next two matches as Noah Bernier edged Bemidji's Brian Maas 5-4 at 120 and Lumberjack Logan Crosby recorded a reverse with one minute remaining in the 126-pound match to nip Austin Hjelle 2-1.

BHS added a major decision at 132 when Robert Treuer posted a 10-2 victory but following the match each squad had a team point taken away for unsportsmanlike conduct. As a result, the Jacks were ahead 13-9.

Bemidji was awarded a forfeit at 138 and Craig Maas made short work of his opponent at 145 with a pin in 15 seconds.

Bemidji opened a 30-8 advantage when Kodi Craft recorded a 38-second fall at 152.

The visitors, however, stormed back with pin victories at 160, 170, 182 and 220 plus a forfeit win at 195.

That string of triumphs gave the Prowlers an insurmountable 38-30 lead heading into the heavyweight bout.

Alex Johnson gave the home fans something to cheer about in that match-up as he needed only 50 seconds to pin David Erickson.

The Lumberjacks return to action Thursday at Grand Rapids and Saturday they participate in the Frazee Invitational.
