Lucille Joyce Schue, 93, of Northome, MN, died on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center in Blackduck, MN.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Northome School in Northome,MN. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the school. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Kelliher, MN. Cease Family Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Jenifer Dockter, Melody Wald, Darrin Phillips, Tyrel Schue, Jenna Kendrick, Andrea Schue, Karla Robida and Savannah Schue. Honorary pallbearers will be her other grandchildren.

She was born February 18, 1921 at home in Englewood Township in Northome, MN to Hans and Edith (Engelking) Gregersen. She attended school in Northome and graduated from Northome High School. She met Donald Schue when she began playing accordion for his band, "Dutch and the Blotters." They played dances in a wide area of northern Minnesota. They were married at her parents home in Northome on April 28, 1946. She attended Bemidji State University, graduating in 1974. She taught Headstart, preschool and Early Childhood Development in Northome, retiring in 1995.

She taught music lessons, played the piano and accordion at the Northome Nursing Home and Bigfork Villa, the Blackduck Nursing Home as well as in Kelliher at the nursing home there. She attended Northome Methodist Church until it closed then attended Hope Lutheran Church in Northome where she was the church organist. She received the Social and Economic Justice Award in 1990 from Gov. Rudy Perpich. She also received an award from the Northome VFW. She loved playing music, scrapbooking and stamp collecting.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Mason of Bemidji, MN and Barbara (Darrell) Phillips of Lino Lakes, MN; one son, Gregory (Karen) Schue of Roosevelt, MN; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Marjorie White.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Hans Gregersen and her husband, Donald Schue on January 6, 1958.
