Lowell Bruce Kastner, 87 of Bemidji died Friday, September 6, 2013 at Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji.

A memorial Service will be 2:30 pm Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the Solway Bible Chapel in Solway, MN with Pastor Jim Mucerino officiating. Interment was at the Solway City Cemetery in Solway, MN. Casketbearers were Trent Larson, Justin Kastner, Reuben Kastner and Morgan Kastner. Condolences may be left at

Lowell was born November 27, 1925 in Wessington, South Dakota the son of James and Esther (Zarneke) Kastner. He was raised, educated and lived in Wessington, SD, Solway and Bemidji, MN. He married Alice Marie Sand December 28, 1951 in Solway. During his life he was a farmer, well driller and was owner of Pioneer Park, a working antique museum. He was a member of Solway Log Chapel and Bemidji Baptist Church. He enjoyed cartridge shell collecting, VW bugs and horses. He also was a member of the Christian Cowboys, Lake Itasca Regional Pioneer Farmers and the Paul Bunyan Vintage Auto Club.

He is survived by his wife Alice; his daughter Judy (Dick) Larson of Warroad; son Rodney Kastner of Rusitu, Zimbabwe, Africa; son Clifford (Elaine) Kastner and daughter Donna Kastner all of Bemidji; 11 grandchildren and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wayne and Kenneth Kastner and sister Mildred Simonson.
