Local volunteers recognized
BEMIDJI — The Sexual Assault Program of Beltrami, Hubbard and Cass counties recently recognized Ayla Koob and Carissa Erickson as “Someone Special Volunteers.”
Koob, who has recently graduated, has volunteered since spring 2012, devoting more than 600 hours to the crisis line. She has also helped with community education, including tabling, event planning, fundraising, presentations and training new advocates.
Erickson has been a volunteer since fall 2010, volunteering on the crisis line and taking numerous hospital and crisis calls. She also helped facilitate the support group as well as helped out at Sexual Assault Program events.
The Bemidji Pioneer, Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, Ken K. Thompson and the United Way recognize “Someone Special Volunteers” who have made significant contributions to the community.
