Local student attends math competition

BEMIDJI – Bemidji Middle School student Elizebeth Thompson will be competing in the MATHCOUNTS State Championship March 15-16.

There will be 126 students from 44 schools throughout the state vying for the state title at the Crown Plaza Conference Center in Plymouth. The top four scores will represent Minnesota in the National MATHCOUNTS finals in Washington, D.C., in May.
Thompson qualified among the top individual scorers at the Lake Agassiz Chapter meet Feb. 15. Her coach is Doug Johnson.
