Local "Pack for School" program scheduled
BEMIDJI -- Churches United is accepting donated school supplies noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 414 Lincoln Ave. SE, in Nymore through July 29.
The Salvation Army is sponsoring the "Pack For School" program to help low income families provide backpacks and necessary supplies to 600 children in grades K-12 who live in Beltrami County.
Items needed include: wide ruled notebooks, markers, scissors, glue sticks, rules, calculators, two-pocket folders, erasers, tape, colored pencils, backpacks, college ruled notebooks, highlighters, No. 2 pencils, crayons, school glue, wide ruled loose leaf paper, college ruled loose leaf paper, pens and red pens.
Families with children in need may fill out a form at Churches United. Distribution will be noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 21 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 22 at the armory.
