BEMIDJI — The local food shelf is in the top 20 food shelves in the state for the amount of donations it brought in during March.
According to Minnesota FoodShare, the Bemidji Community Food Shelf brought in 53,681 pounds of food and $86,473 during March FoodShare month, the largest campaign of the year that strives to restock nearly 300 food shelves across the state.
With its combined donations, the Bemidji food shelf ranked 18th in the state, according to Minnesota FoodShare. The top food shelf was Channel One Food Shelf in Rochester, which brought in 117,170 pounds of food and $166,648.12.
Food shelves throughout the state brought in 3,991,348 pounds of food and $8,353,022 in monetary donations, according to Minnesota FoodShare.
