Earlier this week Bemidji, which makes its home debut 5 p.m. today when it hosts Perham in a twinbill, tied Burnsville for first place in the state Legion poll but Bemidji could drop a spot or two in next week's poll after Tuesday's losses.

In the first game Bemidji opened a 3-0 lead after three innings but Little Falls rallied with three in the sixth and tallied the winning run in the seventh.

Cody Jenkins gave the Legion an early lead when he belted a solo home run in the second.

Pitcher Ryan Hirt helped his cause when he singled to start the third inning. Pinch runner Dom Hayle promptly stole second and two outs later scored when Mitchell Hendricks doubled. Collin Leif followed with an RBI single and Bemidji was on top 3-0.

Hirt was in complete control through five innings, allowing only two singles and one walk during that span. Little Falls, however, scored three in the sixth on a walk, single, sacrifice bunt, a Bemidji error and a double.

The home team tallied the winning run in the seventh on a single and a two-out double.

Hendricks had a pair of doubles to lead Bemidji's offense while Mason Bellew contributed a double and a single.

Zach Solheim was the losing pitcher in Tuesday's rematch despite not allowing an earned run. The Legion scored a solo run in the first and two in the fifth but Little Falls answered with two runs in its half of the first inning and single runs in the fourth and fifth.

Nick Hovila reached on an error to begin the game and eventually scored on a wild pitch.

Connor McNallan walked and Hendricks doubled with one out in the Bemidji fifth. Both runners eventually scored on an infield error.

McNallan had two of Bemidji's six hits. Hovila and Hendricks both had doubles.
