Lila Margaret Wilson, 98, of Bemidji, formerly of Wirt, Minn., died Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Havenwood Care Center in Bemidji.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at Riverside Chapel in rural Big Fork, Minn.
The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.
She was born July 12, 1910, in Spooner, Wis. She traveled with her parents to Wirt as a small child, via railroad and wanigan. She graduated from Deer River High School in 1928 and married Bill Wilson in the spring of 1929. They homesteaded northeast of Wirt. She served as the Pomroy Township Clerk for many years, as well as working on the farm. She enjoyed family, sewing, gardening and spending time with friends. In 1996, she moved to Bemidji, where she resided until her death.
She is survived by her children, Ted and Gary (Bonnie), both of Bemidji; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thorold "Bill" Wilson; parents, Ole and Marie Paulsen; sisters, Mary Ann and Norma; brothers Norman, Matt, Raymond and Ed and a daughter-in-law.
