The National Weather Service said late this afternoon that the storm is weakening. Low pressure was weakening over north-central North Dakota as a new area of low pressure develops over south-central Kansas. The result will be a decrease in snowfall tonight into the first part of Sunday before the second low moves closer to the region.

Freezing rain overnight created skating-rink-like roads in the Bemidji area. There were reports of several accidents, vehicles in ditches and cancellations of events scheduled for the weekend.
