Lifeguard training certification offered next month in Bemidji
BEMIDJI – There will be training classes available through the American Red Cross for Lifeguard Certification. Training courses are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 9, 10, 23, and 24 at the Bemidji High School Pool.
Courses are designed for individuals who want to lifeguard in a pool setting. Participants must be at least 15 by the last day of the course. The course includes a swimming pre-test, rescue skills for shallow and deep water, spinal injury management skills, CPR skills, AED skills, first aid skills and a written and in water skills test.
At the completion of the course, participants will be certified in Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, and First Aid.
Participants should bring a writing instrument, swim suit, towel, and proof of age.
