Lien, Lichtenwalter take top spots in Bemidji's Polar Challenge 5K run/walk

Kaysey Lichtenwater of Bemidji and Nate Lien of Blackduck took first place at Saturday's Polar Challenge 5K run/Walk in Bemidji.

Lichtenwater, 28, finished in 20 minutes, 16.1 seconds to win the women's division. Jasmine Carlson was second, 22 seconds behind Lichtenwalter.

Lien, 35, won the men's race in 18:42.5, beating Paul Krueger of Becida by less than five seconds.
