Letter: Thanks to all involved in pro-life efforts in our community
First, a side note: thank you to the Pioneer for the excellent series on homelessness in our community. It certainly provided greater understanding of the issues our community faces.
October is Respect Life Month. Thank you to all who are involved in the pro-life efforts in our community, including the Northwoods Pregnancy Care Center and the 40 Days of Life Campaign at the local Planned Parenthood office.
We have become a disposal nation; we seem to discard anything and anyone that is not wanted. Is that really who we want to be as a nation? Do we really want to say life has value IF you are wanted? That is what we say when we have legalized abortion on the one hand and, on the other, laws charging murder when a drunk driver kills a wanted child in the womb.
Science has proven both are human beings. The only difference is one is wanted and one is not. Is that who we are as a nation?
Mother Teresa once said: “Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence it can to get what it wants.”
