Letter: Monte hits the mark with ‘cowgirl’ photo
Over the years, many Bemidji Pioneer photos taken by Monte Draper have been enjoyed and appreciated. Understandably, folks continue to appreciate his camera skills. The pictures have been so consistently good that viewers have come to take them for granted and forget to give him the public commendation he deserves. Ho hum.
But recently he outdid himself, as revealed by the Friday Pioneer showing the front page big photo of the proud and happy 2-year-old “cowgirl” (complete with her pink cowboy hat, no less) and her older sister, together at the Beltrami County Fair. What a winner was that picture.
Anyway, no more taking Monte’s work quietly for granted — and sayin’ nuthin’. The time is now to give him the public thanks that he deserves.
