Child, father die after kayak overturns on Hart Lake in Hubbard County

Letter: Guilfoile led the way with sleep column

Patrick Guilfoile’s column of Nov. 17 was one of the most interesting reports on science I’ve read in many years. We’ve always wondered why we devote so much of our lives to sleep. It appears in this preliminary research that our brains need the sleep time to remove waste.

By the way, Patrick’s column appeared first in the Bemidji Pioneer. Finally, nearly two months later, the same report appeared in the New York Times of Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014.

Congrats to Professor Guilfoile and the Bemidji Pioneer.
