Letter: Feedback continues on plight with wood stove

My wife and I would like to update and thank the many people who have called and responded to our letter from Nov. 29 (Buyers beware).

As of today, Jan. 24, we have received hundreds of calls from every corner of the state plus Canada. The response has been staggering, people calling with helpful ideas, calling out of concern or to share their opinions on outside wood stoves.

When we first put the letter to the editor in the newspaper, we thought we might get a few calls from the area and possibly figure out the problem. Unfortunately, we are still having the same problem and the company still won't back their product up, but the calls keep coming in. Just today, we have had five calls and two of them have been from other companies who want to look at this stove and see if they can help us figure it out without tearing it apart. We just can't believe how helpful people can be in Minnesota. I have lived here in Minnesota for over 30 years now and it never ceases to amaze me at how people stick together here and try to help each other out without expecting anything in return.

We would also like to thank the two loggers who have been helping us with wood to feed this stove. Without their help, we don't know what we would have done.

So in closing, for now, we would just like to thank everyone for their concern and help. We will keep you posted on the outcome of our ordeal. If anyone thinks they have the answer to why this thing would eat so much wood, please feel free to call us. We greatly appreciate every call we get.
