Letter: Deputy shooting draws thanks to all who serve

Email

In light of the senseless act against Deputy Christopher Dewey, let us never forget the men and women who put their lives on the line for us each day in our community.

To the officers, troopers and deputies: If you have not heard "Thank you" today, "Thank You!" If your family has not heard "Thank you" today, we thank them as well.

If we have been rude or uncooperative when we have met, we apologize.

If we have to call you in the middle of the night, we apologize.

Thank you for doing the things in our community that we are not able to do.

Thank you for doing the things in our community that we are not trained to do.

Thank you for doing the things in our community that are sometimes unpleasant.

Thank you for doing the things in our community that are dangerous.

Thank you for being there for us. Let us never forget to be there for you.

Thank you for being the brave men and women that you are.

Thank you for protecting and serving us.

Thank you for all you do.

Capt. Robin Helgager

Northland Composite Squadron
