Letter: Christmas Kettle campaign was a ringing success
would like to thank the community for its support of the Beltrami County Salvation Army’s 2013 Christmas Kettle campaign. Over $30,000 in donations were raised to help work miracles in the lives of Beltrami County residents all year long.
More than 100 volunteers rang bells to make this possible including Salem Lutheran Church, Bemidji Rotary Club, Lion’s Club, Sons of Norway, along with all our wonderful individual volunteers who donate their own personal time to help this cause.
Many thanks also to Gene Campbell and his group who were outside at Walmart in the frigid weather, raising over $16,000 alone. Their contributions are a shining example of the true spirit of Christmas.
I also want to thank Lueken’s Village Foods, Marketplace Foods and the Circus Arcade at the Paul Bunyan Mall for their patience and assistance in allowing us to ring the bell at their locations. Thank you for your ongoing support.
To everyone who supported our Christmas Kettle effort, please know how valuable your contributions are, not just in terms of the mouths it will feed or the lives that it will help to reconstruct, but that you have brightened lives by letting those in need know they are surrounded by caring members of their own communities.
