Lester Young, 75, of Bemidji, MN died, Monday, January 28, 2013 at Neilson Place, Bemidji.
Memorial Services will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013 at First Assembly of God Church, 1015 4th St. SE, Bemidji, with Pastor Vernon Lathe officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in the spring in Greenwood Cemetery.
Lester Warren Young was born April 14, 1937 in Rugby, North Dakota to Charles and Olga (Olson) Young. At the age of 10 years old, they moved to Solway, MN where he attended Solway grade school and graduated from Bemidji High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany. On October 19, 1968 he married Dorothy Johnson in Bemidji, MN. He was employed by Dwayne Young, Inc. for 40 years as a lather and drywall worker. He dedicated his ability to be a craftsman doing interior and exterior design works, building beautiful woodworking projects. Lester enjoyed golfing, which he enjoyed daily until his stroke in 2008.
He is survived by sons, Gerry DeMoss of Bemidji and Mark (Marion) DeMoss of Hillsboro, ND; daughters, Char (Rick) Petrowske of Bemidji, Lisa (Greg) Lathe of Oak Creek, WI and Sandy Russo of Ramsey; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Dwayne (Gwen) Young of Bemidji; 2 sisters, Diane (Gerald) Davis of Bemidji and Sharon (LeRoy) Johnson of Chino Valley, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Young; brother, Jon Young and sister, Janice Young.
