BEMIDJI, Minn. - LeRoy Benjamin Fairbanks, whose Ojibwe name is “Makoonce” which means “Little Bear”, 87, Walker, Minn., died Monday in Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

The wake will begin 6 p.m. today at Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake, Minn., and will continue until the time of service on Friday. Traditional funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Veteran’s Memorial Building. Interment will be in the family burial grounds at his home on the hill near Walker.
