LeOra (Edwards) Delaney, 68, of Bemidji, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Becida Community Church with the Rev. John Werlein officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Fern Township Cemetery in Hubbard County, Minn.
The pallbearers will be her grandsons, Mike Delaney, Bryan Delaney, Sam Delaney, Greg Delaney, John Delaney and Tyler Delaney.
Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters Cameron Delaney, Devon Delaney, Crystal Delaney, Sue Mullin, Sara Mullin, Jennifer Thayer and Tabitha Delaney.
She was born Sept. 6, 1940, to Jay and Laura (Bohlman) Edwards in Bemidji. She grew up near Bemidji and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1958. She met Lloyd Delaney and they were married on Sept. 12, 1959, in Bemidji. After their marriage, she remained at home and raised her five children. She served as the treasurer for the Rockwood Township Board for more than 30 years. She was also a member of the Becida Community Church and served as its treasurer for 30 years. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing and going to the casino. She also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Delaney of Bemidji; daughter, Clarinda (Brad) Mullin of Becida; sons, Mark (Kris) Delaney of Park Rapids, Kevin (Teri) Delaney of Burnsville, Minn., Jeff (Cindy) Delaney of Bemidji and Greg (Melinda) Delaney of Bemidji; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Vernon Edwards of Bemidji and Robert (Alys Ann) Edwards of Bemidji; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law.
